Yard Waste & Composting
Yard Waste
Yard waste is collected curbside seasonally, six weeks in the spring and fall. Please see the flier for pick up weeks. Place leaves in paper bags or containers curbside on your trash collection day. NO PLASTIC BAGS -- they will not be accepted. NO sand or dirt in bags. Brush must be bundled and not to exceed 4 feet in length and not more than 4 inches in diameter.
Additionally, you may bring yard waste to the quarterly Household Hazardous Waste Days and the DPW at 185 Guelphwood Road. The leaf dumpsters at the DPW are open April through December (weather permitting). You can bring the yard waste loose or in paper bags -- NO PLASTIC BAGS. Brush must not exceed 4 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter. If the gates are closed, you can't leave your yard waste. Gates may be closed if the dumpster is full OR there is abuse and the area needs to be cleaned. Guidelines for use are posted at DPW. Commercial yard waste is not accepted. These services are for Southbridge residents only.
